Dedicated IPs without an Enterprise plan
Buy IPs, build Pools, and bind Bridges from the Professional tier. With ActiveCampaign, a dedicated IP is Enterprise-only with a one-time fee, so most customers never leave shared sending.
ActiveCampaign alternative · Reviewed June 2026
ActiveCampaign's automation and CRM are genuinely good. But dedicated IPs are effectively Enterprise-only, transactional means a separate Postmark account and bill, and the price climbs steeply as your contacts and feature needs grow.
The honest read
ActiveCampaign is an automation-first platform, and that's its real strength — a deep visual builder, a large recipe library, lead scoring, and a built-in CRM. The catch is access and price. The Starter plan caps you at five actions per automation, segmentation and features unlock as you climb tiers, and the bill scales hard with contacts: roughly $15 to $79/month at 1,000 contacts depending on tier, and well into the hundreds as you reach tens of thousands. For accounts created from November 2025 onward, unsubscribed and bounced contacts now count toward your limit too.
Sending infrastructure is where it gets thin for serious senders. A dedicated IP is available only on Enterprise, carries a one-time fee, and is recommended only above roughly 100,000 contacts — so the overwhelming majority of customers send from shared pools. And transactional email isn't really unified: it runs through Postmark, which ActiveCampaign acquired but kept as a separate product with its own account, its own sending infrastructure, and its own block-based bill. The marketing copy says 'one place'; the operational reality is two accounts.
Mumara ONE gives you dedicated IPs, Pools, and Bridge binding from the Professional tier — not gated to a top plan — and runs transactional in the very same account on the very same IPs, with no separate Postmark relationship to manage. It runs on infrastructure Mumara owns and operates rather than shared public cloud, and for teams that need to bring everything in-house, Mumara Campaigns is a genuinely self-hosted product. ActiveCampaign has no self-hosted edition.
The money
ActiveCampaign prices by contacts with features gated per tier, and the things serious senders need sit at the top. Here's the contrast:
| Scenario | Mumara | ActiveCampaign |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 contacts | $5 – $15/mo | $15 (Starter) → $79 (Pro) |
| Dedicated IP | IPs, Pools & Bridges from the Professional tier | Enterprise plan only; roughly $750 one-time, recommended above ~100k contacts |
| Transactional email | Same account, same IPs, one bill | Postmark — separate account, separate block-based bill |
| Automation limits | Multi-step Workflows, no per-automation action cap | 5 actions per automation on Starter |

Where Mumara wins
Buy IPs, build Pools, and bind Bridges from the Professional tier. With ActiveCampaign, a dedicated IP is Enterprise-only with a one-time fee, so most customers never leave shared sending.
Receipts and resets send from the same account and IPs as your campaigns — no separate Postmark account, no second sending stack, no extra block-based bill to reconcile.
Mumara's production application runs on hardware and IPs we operate. That's more direct reputation control than shared public-cloud sending, and it's the foundation under every Pool and Bridge you build.
Multi-step Workflows, dedicated IPs, and the deeper reporting aren't reserved for the top of the ladder. You won't hit a five-action automation cap or a tier wall on the features that actually run your sending.
Mumara Campaigns runs on your own server with unlimited contacts and a built-in CRM-light contact model. If your compliance posture needs the stack in-house, ActiveCampaign simply can't go there.

Not in a unified way. Transactional runs through Postmark, which ActiveCampaign owns but keeps as a separate product with its own account, sending infrastructure, and block-based billing. Mumara ONE runs transactional in the same account and on the same dedicated IPs as your marketing.
On ActiveCampaign, a dedicated IP is effectively Enterprise-only and recommended only above roughly 100,000 contacts. On Mumara, dedicated IPs, Pools, and Bridge-to-Pool binding are available from the Professional tier, so reputation control isn't reserved for the largest accounts.
For most senders, no. Mumara offers multi-step Workflows, Drips, Triggers, and Split Tests with no five-action-per-automation cap. ActiveCampaign's automation library is broader, so if recipe-driven sales automation is your core need, weigh that against Mumara's infrastructure and pricing advantages.
Mumara prices on a contact volume tier you choose. ActiveCampaign changed its policy so that for accounts created from November 2025, unsubscribed and bounced contacts also count toward your limit.
